Community Carnival aims to help children

View original article

St. Petersburg, Fl – If you have a big heart and want to help kids, you should head to a community carnival on Saturday, October 15th. The All 4 Kids event was organized to let people know how they can help local children. 25 different social service agencies are participating.

“They can come out and find out anything from learning how to foster, adopt, or just by a Christmas present for a child in the system,” explains Yvonne Marrone from Hillsborough Guardian ad Litem.

The Community Carnival runs from 11:00am – 3:00pm at the Harley-Davidson of Tampa, 6920 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

Members of the group Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) are also participating in the event. “Loony”, who just wanted his street-name used, says BACA helps children in a variety of ways. Bikers will escort them to court, or just be their friend– so the child knows they’re supported.

“Our main mission is to empower children not to live in a world of fear,” Loony explains.

The carnival will be a fun family event with free food and drinks, face painting, and other activities.

“Hillsborough has more children in care than any other county in Florida,” says Marrone. “We need solutions and people want to know how they can help.”
